For this academic year, I think I spent most time in Broken Wings. I was very busy with it, but I managed to maintain my academic scores. I learned to manage my time wisely so I can go to musical production rehearsals, go to courses, and study for school too.

There are some teachers that gave me average marks in the report card, and I asked them what's the reason. Because I think I earned good marks in the homework, worksheets, and tests. They said it is because I missed quite a lot of their lessons for the musical production rehearsal. Well, I can't do anything about it because the rehearsal was compulsory :(

For next year, I'll commit to try harder and participate more. I won't let my academic scores affected by things I do in theatre arts, because academics are still important for my future. I'll study harder to improve my scores, since some of them now are only average scores. I will also try to join more school activities involving theatre arts and dramas, I need to practice more on my acting, because there are a lot of theatrical stuffs which I haven't known or learned yet. I'm sure that learning is a life-long process and I'll not stop learning even though if someday I succeed in this field.

My commitment will start from the rehearsals for the performance of the Easter Celebration, I will practice harder and never give up, since I have to act under a black cloth. I will ask Mr. Angger to teach me more on how to do the contemporary moves and how to pull the cloth so that my movements and my face will still be seen. Last time I gave up during the rehearsal because it was hard to act, move and pull the cloth at the same time. But from now on, I will try harder.

Coming Soon Thingies! ;p

More on my school stuffs, this April I'm going to play in the Easter's Celebration drama.
The story is about how human have been blinded by the 'worldly' needs so they can't reach
"The Light" or God.
I'll play the role as the men who are blinded and keep persuading other people to follow my wrong path. I have to act under a black cloth and I need to do some contemporary moves too.
I enjoy playing antagonist roles more, I don't really know why. Maybe because I can be rebellious and bad without being warned, since I'm only playing a role? Maybe. :p
I'll try to take a picture during the performance, and I'll also give you some sneak peeks on the script!

I also become the director for my class' drama for Bahasa Indonesia class! :D
It is my first time being a director in a play, because my friends usually always want me to play roles, hahaha..
And I can feel the burden on me as director! Managing a lot of things including the actors, the properties, the background song and lightings make me feel so... UGH! I really can feel how Mr. Angger felt when he was directing the Broken Wings, really. I think maybe my depression because of this drama is only a quarter of his depression, since Broken Wings is a much bigger event.
But I really enjoy the feeling how my friends respect my opinions and suggestions toward them.. So glad to have you guys!
I love 10PIB2 <3
I will show you some behind the scenes of the performance, while we were having our rehearsals in class..
check these out, they are hilarious! XD

The next big thing is, I'm going to join the DBL Journalist Competition! I teamed up with friend, Lauren, she will be the photographer and I will be the writer. I'll try hard to create interesting articles, so that you all will be interested to see the DBL :p

Coming soon!
Toodles! X)

AMC

Last month (March) I joined AMC. AMC stands for American Mathematics Competition. The competition was done at school, and I joined AMC with some of my other friends. We didn't really prepare for AMC, because we were asked to join like, a week before the competition. So we didn't have much exercises and we didn't really know how are the math problems like in this competition.

So, when we did the math problems, we were totally shocked! The problems were very hard, and I think I only answered about 7 out 15 questions. I'm not even sure I got all of my 7 answers right! Mr. Ranto, the supervisor teacher for this AMC, said to us earlier that he didn't really expect us to win, because we didn't have much preparations. He's probably right, I don't have any slightest idea of winning. :(

But at least, I tried my best...
The results haven't been told yet, I think I'll be okay with any results, because that is not the most important. :)
I gained new experience from this kind of competition that no matter what the teacher said, I still have to work hard and give my best in everything that I do.

“Everything is settled. No tears, no boredom, and no hurt. Everyone lives as if in paradise. Day by day, and time after time, they protect nature’s splendor. Anyone who glimpses Aru, wants to stay.”
-Narrator

I spent most of this school year on Broken Wings Musical Production. Yes, it is a musical drama Cita Hati Senior High School presented last February. The rehearsal took around 8 months! Our hard work was paid off by the audiences’ reaction after the performance. I was so glad that everyone loved it; even the students from other schools complimented the performance. I learned a lot during the 8 months process. In spite of the new drama teacher, Mr. Angger. I need to adapt with his new way of teaching which was quite different from the earlier teacher. I learned new things from him and I also met a lot of new friends. There were a lot of students that were involved in this Musical Production, some of them joined the dance, orchestra, choir, and also backstage team. That was the first time I've ever been in that kind of musical drama. The musical drama was so extravagant and spectacular, so we have to be super serious because we were seen by the public, including some important people such as: Mayor of Surabaya, Ministers of Educational Department, etc.

The quote above is a part of what the narrators said in the script of performance. The story is about a nature-born-tribe called Aru which lives in the forest. They protect nature in every single way since their ancestors had told them to. Until one day, Max Company wants to destroy the forest where Aru people live for the sake of their business. But Aru people refuse and the war between modernized and traditional civilization begins. Before the war, the headman's wife gives birth to a little girl called Broken Wings. During the war, the headman and his wife are killed, and Broken Wings is saved to the city by a journalist. Despite of their traditional weapons, the Aru tribe wins. Later, after around 20 years, the long lost Broken Wings goes home to her tribe.

I'm sorry I can't upload the recording of the performance, but i can show you the trailer, please watch! ;)

Can you recognize me in that trailer? :p
The trailer was shot at real forest, isn't it beautiful?
I've got some of my pictures too!

I'm the one in the middle!

I'm the one on the right!

I had been really a wonderful experience to participate in such a great event! :)

The Beginning :)

It all started back then when I was in the 5th grade of elementary school. I wanted to change my extracurricular activity at school from choir to something else. The, somehow, I decided to choose drama. I think from that moment, I started to develop my love towards drama and theatre arts.

One day, still in the 5th grade, a senior high student came to see my drama extracurricular teacher, Mr. Ming I was walking past the classroom when Mr. Ming called me and introduced me to the sat student. Her name is Karin (I called her ce* Karin,) and she was looking for elementary students to be involved in the senior high’s musical drama. Mr. Ming suggested me as one of the students and certainly agreed when ce Karin asked me if I want to join the drama. The musical drama was entitled ”Indonesia Milik Siapa?”and it was amazing. Too bad that I can’t find the recording of the performance :(

After that ce Karin and her friends were going to make a film. And she asked once more to join! I was so happy at that time! I didn’t really know the purpose of the film making though. There was Mr. Hartono whom I called “ko* Har” and he was the teacher of ce Karin and friends, so I guess that film is for school purposes. I tried to upload the film, but it took a very long time because of the big size, sorry :(
Instead, you can see this video we made also with other Cita Hati students for explaining the general rules in the school. The video was played during the Students Orientation Program when new students for grade 7 and 10 are told about the school.

Since then, I continued taking drama as my extracurricular. And when I entered Junior High School I had Koko Har as my teacher. I really enjoy being involved in school events such as Christmas and Easter celebration dramas. Later in the 9th grade, my school offered some scholarships and I was interested to apply for one. I applied for both the academic scholarship (the one which is based on academic results) and the special talent scholarship (the one which is based on talents). During the interview for the scholarship requirement, I was asked, “Don’t you consider taking acting seriously? Like maybe with taking up acting courses or joining casting audition for indie movies?” I actually never thought of something like that. Well, I sometimes dream about being a real actress, but I never thought of living that dream. Despite of it, I think I’ll focus more on my education for now. But if someday, I could have the opportunity to live my dream, I’d love to. (Amen!)

Anyways, I finally got that scholarship for the special talent one. And here I am, creating this blog which is actually used for my scholarship’s portfolio.

Okay, that’s the whole history behind my love towards the theatre arts. And by the way, I found the words I use for the name of this blog when I was surfing on the internet, looking for theatre art stuffs and these series of words caught my eye instantly, I don’t know why, hahaha :D

*Note :
‘ce ’ is the abbreviation of ‘cece’ which originally come from the Chinese word ‘jie jie’ that means older sister
‘ko’ is the abbreviation of ‘koko’ which originally came from the Chinese word ‘ge ge’ that means older brother
